Rosie gets a guest blogger this week. Jeff R. and I made a quick trip to NYC this past Tuesday and Wednesday for a ball game. At the end of this year they are tearing down Yankee Stadium and we wanted to see "The House That Ruth Built". It was a fast trip but we got to see a lot and we had a great time hanging out and catching up. Here are some of the sights.
If you have seen "Night at the Museum" with Ben Stiller you will recognize this place. The museum of Natural History was right across from our hotel and across from the museum was central park.

Central Park...There was some interesting people in here. It could be an museum itself.
Game Night!! Our Stop.
The House Ruth Built. Think of the great baseball players that played in this stadium.
The new face of Yankee Stadium below.
We sat in left field and had a home run land 6 rows in front of us. That is the closest any ball has ever landed to me.

Ground Zero...What a sobering place to be. Being there in person really puts reality on the whole picture and why we are in Iraq.

An airplane window pulled out of the rubble.

Two Guns found in an evidence locker encased by cement at the bottom of the rubble.
Times Square...The Michigan Ave. in Chicago except 5x busier 24-7. This picture does not do justice for the congestion going on around us. New York City makes Chicago seem like Peoria to me.
Jeff finally getting his taxi ride to the airport.

NYC TOP TEN:
- All the excercise we got at the airport because we were late on every flight in some capacity. (Delta is terrible)
- At the first restaurant we ate at (Jackson Hole) I got a hamburger bigger than my fist. I had to eat it with my fork it was so unbelievably large. Paying our bill Jeff asked where they got the picture of signed by Jennifer Aniston and they told him she worked there when she was getting started as an actress.
- Jeff sleeping in the museum to see if the animals would come to life.
- A romantic walk with Jeff in central park. (haha)
- Riding the subway with Jeff. (Unfortunately for him)
- The Yankee game.
- Watching Jeff eat everything on the menu at the game except a hot dog.
- Getting a taxi ride after the game by a guy who we later discovered was not even a taxi driver in the 1st place. He was making extra money at the game. The ride was crazy he was nuts in the way he was driving!! It is right up there for cab rides for me.
- Listening to Jeff moan about a messed up stomach all night long after the game.
- Coming home!

Great blog, Ryan! Loved the top 10list ... The 'taxi driver' was a pretty funny one, and you and Jeff together always makes for several good stories!

Yea, we had fun, but for some reason we run into some interesting situations.
As far as the photos...Rosie wouldn't let me take her good one. I think she was afraid I would show her up (haha).
Sounds like you had fun. I've always heard that the 'best thing about New York is leaving' --- but, it sounds like you guys could've stayed longer.
