Happy New Year and Welcome little J bear ;)

We are so excited to announce the arrival of and welcome our precious baby boy #3, Jeremiah Michael!  He arrived on New Year's Eve at 7:59 p.m. (via emergency c - section) weighing 7 lbs. 0.2 oz and measuring 19 3/4 inches long!

We are overjoyed to have another boy in our family and are so thankful everything went well.  J is healthy and safe and I am healing well.  It turns out it only took about 2 hours of labor (drank lots of water after my hair appt. thinking it might be false labor again and then also made a dessert with the boys for the Sieb Christmas the next day oy!) and this little guy was ready to join us!  Thankfully we got to the hospital when we did b/c I was fully dialated and ready to go when I got there.  If my water had broken I probably would have delivered J at home or in the car which would have been scary because even in a controlled environment I did have a cord prolapse (cord came first -what we were concerned would happen with my polyhydramnios - waaaay too much fluid) and had to be rushed into emergency surgery for a c-section.  Living 30 minutes from the hospital we were def. concerned about this and are so thankful God did not let that happen!! (Ryan especially lol!)  It was fine because they knocked me out and I don't remember any of it (the surgery - esp them sticking the tube down my throat!!) ;)

I was so excited b/c it was too late for an epidural and honestly without pitocin to "help" (haha) my labor along I was able to labor on my own and was going to have my first med free birth wahoo!!! Needless to say I was dissapointed when Dr. L found that the cord came first and a c-section was immenant...but I was okay with it because it was what needed to be done and all part of the Master plan.  Honestly the worst part of the whole day (labor and everything) was when the nurse needed to help keep the cord "in" and the baby off the cord in triage, on the way to the OR, and while they were prepping me for surgery.  She even hopped up on the bed with me to get this done - even though I cried out in pain (a lot ahem) I am so glad she did this and kept our sweet baby safe.  Of course then the "after" surgery was even worse than that - but I am told since it was an emergency it was a little more "rough" than a planned (more calm) c-section.  I am not sure though - being cut open doesn't sound like it would ever be "easy" or feel better than something else.  I would take a regular birth now any day of the week over a c-section due to the pain of recovery.

Right before the dr. checked me they did an ultrasound to make sure J was headdown and he was - but there was so much fluid (an estimated 10 extra lbs of it - no wonder I was measuring 42 weeks at 36 weeks!) that when he broke my water J turned sideways in the water rush  and nobody knew it until they sectioned me and Dr. L reached in to get him out finding his bum instead of his head.  SO the Lord had it all worked out from the very beginning when I started whining about not getting my small, more private hospital and the plan was in the works for me to deliver (by referral) at the largest (and well staffed I must say!) hospital in the area with the best NICU in the world (I have heard.)  If my cord hadn't come first J could have very well turned sideways anyway and I would have pushed for only He knows how long with no result or good ones anyway (don't think a baby will come out very well turned sideways) and all this with no epidural b/c I was already "complete" when I got there and there was no time (yikes!!) - and THEN probably would have had to have an emergency c-section anyway (just speculating here) - So...back when I was complaining about not delivering at my usual (small) hospital all this was in the plans already and can I just say?  even though it was not "my plan" I am so glad it all worked out the way it did.  I am so glad the Lord quieted me back then and helped me to trust in Him and His plan - what we were concerned about actually happened...and He knew it would.  He was protecting us even back then (sigh) - this makes me teary eyed...

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:11-13

So Jeremiah is here safely, I am safe and healthy, and even though the recovery has been rough and one I am def. not used to - I am recovering nicely (especially b/c my hubby is so sweet and awesome and since my mom is here for a week now!) and am able to enjoy all three of my boys every day.  Jeremiah is a very very sweet baby and I am enjoying every single moment Ihave with him.  He is very smiley in his sleep, very cute when he is awake and alert, and so snuggly (I have to force myself to let him sleep in his bassinet during the day for some naps and not hold him all day!)  It's much easier to hold him more that I am recovering - I know when I am feeling better and busy with the older boys it will be harder to do that (although that is why I bought some slings ;)) - all in all we are all well and so very thankful for God's mercy in protecting us during all the excitement Jeremiah's birth (which I can hopefully post more about soon!).  Until next time! ;)  ♥ R

Here are some pics of lil' J and the boys at 5 days (with the help of my bestie photog friend, Shellie, who also took some family pics of us and helped me with lil' J as a spotter since I couldn't move very fast...or much at all lol) and 8 days  :))  He sure is a little sweetie and it fills my heart to the brim to see how much his brothers love and respect him and his "little-ness" right now {{sigh}} :) ...♥
