So yes! You may have figured it out! Today our family fun day consisted of a road trip to see my college roomie and maid of honor from our wedding, Jen, and her hubby and little boy D who live in Quincy, IL. We went to the park for a picnic lunch, played there, played (sort of) in a creek, saw a turtle, and then went to their house and played in the sprinkler and little pool in the front yard for a while. We also had some good family bonding time in the car. I don't know what it is with R and I we just love to spend time together driving in the car. It allows us time to talk and dream... thank goodness for long car rides!
This week C turns four, I can hardly believe it, but then again I can :) He really is able to comprehend so much and is quite funny at times. He is also our sensitive hearted little boy and we are constantly working with him to buck up and go with the flow. Tonight he earned a new CAT track combine. He has been giving Sadie (our black lab) food and water almost every morning and every night for a quarter a day to save up for this beloved toy. The excited giggle that he let out when I took it out from behind my back when R and I presented it to him was priceless. He is really treasuring it and it means so much more to him because he earned it. (R's idea) :)
The other day we were all driving home from Peoria and he wanted R to stop for something (I can't remember what now though) and R said "oh no, we can't" so C said "oh come on dad", and then R said, "no, I guess I'm boring ". C replied, "well I'm not!"...:)

B is currently cutting his last two 2 year old molars and then will have all his baby teeth in :) Whew! I guess teething on the whole hasn't been that bad for B, however, like C when before he cut his two year molars, B had all these terrible symptoms like he was sick and I took him to the Dr. The Dr. put him on meds for an ear ache which I had a hunch was from his teeth.....two days after the fever and him batting at his ears the teeth cut through. Ugh. I should have gone with my instinct on that one. I had many problems with ear infections growing up though (I was a huge water person) so I didn't want him to be in pain if we could get him on meds to cure the ear ache if it was from the bath etc. Oh well, I'll probably forget when the time comes for that one again. C had the same thing happen to him, I thought he started having severe allergies that wouldn't go away and lasted longer than a normal cold (even though he had never had symptoms for allergies before) so I got some infant/baby allergy medicine for him (doctore rec) and then that gave him a rash (oops) and then sure enough his molars cut through. Nothing like unnecessarily medicating your kid huh? Live and learn and again, there is always tomorrow to earn the "Mom of the Year" award right? I mean, you can't win everyday right???? :)
B is also talking up a storm. Some things he has been saying at 22 months are:
"I'm watching tractor"
"More crispies please, Mama"
"Sadie is silly"
"I don't know"
"I want to come too"
"I want to walk"
"Help please"
"Cars and tractors"
"I want to watch Cars"
"I love you Mama"
"I love you Daddy"
"Thank you"
"You're welcome"
"Sorry"
"Please forgive me"
"Vrooooom"
"Read book Mama?"
These are all in his distinct baby talk but we can understand him pretty well. The words that come out clear as bell are pretty cute. He is really able to communicate what he wants and is getting to be quite the little boy vs. baby baby boy. He sits up at our patio set table in the big chair, has been using a fork and spoon for months now, and also drinks from a regular cup at the table and outside. Also whenever we go somewhere to eat if they don't have a high chair he just sits in a regular chair. Oh - and I don't really carry a diaper bag around anymore!! Wahooo!!

He is still very little (thank goodness) in that he wants rocked, snuggled, and sung to before bed and after he wakes up in the morning and after nap. :) I am truly cherishing these times with all my heart!! Oh, and I caved on his binkie :) When he was really sick with fever etc. he cried and cried so I gave it to him. He started out doing really well just having it for naps for about 4 or 5 days and not at night and then he got sick. So I gave it to him b/c I felt so sorry for him that he didn't feel good. Now he has it again for night time and nap and will until these molars grow in. Then.....I am cutting them. :) Hopefully he'll be as enthusiastic as C when I cut his and be so excited to use the foot pedal to open the garbage can and throw them away. Hey, a girl can dream can't she?!!?!?
Okay, enough for now. R always tells me to not write so much. So then I don't write at all, and then I get behind and then write too much again. SOrry :) I hope everyone enjoyed a beautiful weekend!!! See you soon! Love, R............. :)
