Kids say

the darned-est things. The other day Caleb sassed Ryan so he got disciplined (lovingly of course). Well after Ryan and he prayed and asked for forgiveness together Caleb came crying to me (more like whining I should say) and said "I'm crying mommy.." and I said "Why are you crying?" to which he replied, "Because Daddy gave me something to cry about."

(I promise I only used the phrase - I'll give you something to cry about - THREE times and then stopped because I realized it just wasn't really appropriate for a 2-3 year old and well...doesn't really get much done in helping them understand why they shouldn't be whining or what else they can do to express their feelings of frustration etc.... okay that's another MOM OF THE YEAR AWARD (I get one chance per day ;) down the tubes :::sigh::: Oh well, there's always tomorrow right? :0)

On another note, we had a great weekend! Auntie LuAnn came on Friday to ride the trails with Ryan and Caleb. As you read before our bike trailer broke and it turned out that they stopped making that model in '05 so we couldn't buy the parts. That put us in a bind and we decided that we would look for another trailer used. Craigslist had postings starting at $75 for the Instep brand and $200 and up for Burleys (which are pretty well made I guess)....so we were like uh-oh!! Well A. LuAnn's bicyclying friend said he had one that he used TWICE or something b/c his little one did NOT like riding in it. He sold it to us for $25!!! Praise God. YOu know it was something we hadn't even prayed for yet and God took care of us before we even asked. What a glorious and all-knowing Heavenly Father we have :)

Benjamin is OFFICIALLY walking - as in prefering to walk over crawl to get places now. It really is exciting and an answer to prayer. I was hoping he would walk before I went to training and then camp so I wouldn't miss his big milestone.

On Saturday we had Ryan's buddy, his wife, and their little guy over for the day. It was great fun and neat to hang out with good friends. Their little guy is 6 1/2 months old and made friends with little B. B walked up to him and gave him hugs and tried to give him kisses too. It was too cute. Later then, though, he knocked him down with one swing and hit in the face...hmmm...wonder where he learned that from?? Good thing little J just laid on the grass and smiled :) (more like phew!) (You can see his pics on my photography blog - the link is to the right :)

Sunday we went to church and were inducted as new members. Yay! We also had our neighbor Ms. Janet over for dinner and got to learn a little bit more about our area and her so that was neat. Apparently we are living in a over a 1/2 million dollar house. (I asked her if she knew how much the house sold for - ya know...just being curious to see if maybe we could one day just maybe live out here on the river... :)) Let's put it this way....I am enjoying it while I can!!! ha ha! :) Here are some pics of B walking in the backyard this past weekend and one of C "mowing" the yard "like papa" even though Ryan used a riding mower at home :) They are SOOC (straight out of camera) uncropped, unadjusted etc. (sorry!) I am trying to save time and blog at the same so I can my prep for camp done. I hope you have a great day!! ~R
