M.I.A.!

I am so sorry I have been M.I.A. on here for so long! I don't even know how long it's been?!?!? I am sitting here to quickly fill you in on our happenings before I get to play with some more of Abby and Caleb's wedding images (yay!)..first of all the wedding went great! Praise the Lord..really. I was slightly...scared to death. :) I knew tho, especially after doing SuperCamp this summer, that this wedding was a "this is it" moment or rather...experience. That everyone who shoots weddings has to shoot their "first one" so...I should get going and get my first one under my belt!! Abby is the most laid back bride I have ever seen! I mean I think I was pleasant and nice on my wedding day...but I wasn't that laid back by any means...I really had to work hard to be gracious (I hope I succeeded?!? :) Abby was such a joy to work with and her pictures turned out great. I ended up taking 2500 or so pics and picking out 1078 of them to post process, we'll see how they like them :) You can check my sdg blog for some examples if you like :)

Caleb and Ryan are helping A. Linda and U. Phil put up the fence for their pasture today so it's just Benjamin and I. He is doing really well starting to talk. First word: "uh oh"..I guess that would be two words ;) and today said wuh-woo for "love you"....okay so...melt my heart much??? I know I know I really do take such joy in the little things of life!! He loves animals especially his baby blue elephant that we (okay I) named Oli as in "oh-lee" for Oliphant....not sure where I got that from but that's alright...he downright LOVES Oli...snuggles him, loves him...hums to him...so cute! His Oli #1 was actually getting pretty scraggly looking, his trunk was permanently dirty b/c he literally used it as a teether...sucking and biting on it all day and through the night. I didn't hear too many peeps out of him tho!! So...Ryan and I discussed getting some "back-ups" to switch out when the nastiness was too much to bare...so we had to order them from ebay b/c apparently Oli is discont. from the Hallmark store....or all 6 Hallmarks in our area were "fresh out"?!?!? So we ordered 4. Yes you read right, 4. We figure that should be enough Oli's till he's ohhh....say about 5 years old. :)

Benjamin also signes, elephant (hand up in the air like the trunk) and makes an elephant sound (with a BIG smile!!), growls like a tiger, tongue out like a doggie, 'Mauw" like a kitty with whiskers (hand across cheek), more ("ma"), please, thank you, "wuh-woo", "Da-da" and "Ma-ma" on purpose, all done (sign) and "au-duh".... etc. etc.

All this and the doctor (that I stopped going to) labeled him as "behind in speech etc." at his 12 month appt..he was 12 mths and 1 day old. He said three words including animal sounds etc. two weeks later all in three days. go figure. i am glad i left that dr. i don't believe that labeling him like that so early was right. little B just needed a couple more weeks. so...did you read my last entry? i know right?? the books i have said that most babies don't even start talking until 13 or 14 mths...go figure. good thing i didn't freak out on Benjamin...i was pretty irked at that dr. tho... have you ever had an experience like that?

Here is benjamin washing the floor with wipies for me...if that isnt' advanced I don't know what is!!! lol!! :)

On another note, Caleb is FULLY POTTY TRAINED!! It went completely different than I thought I would have it go (ha!)...but yes, after a year of slowly easing into it he is trained at 3 years and three months old. no more diapies nothing! he did wet the bed two nights last week after we didn't have him use the potty before bed. so...now we know! he us much more snuggly now than ever. we used to tease that he was so much like Ryan (mr. no snuggle) and now he's so over the edge opposite. experienced moms: do you think this has to do with not being a "baby" at all anymore because of being potty trained? like not having that time of being changed etc...with that attention? send your polls in soon :) i really would like to hear what you think! :)

okay so this is way too long already!!! hope you are enjoying the cooler weather, I know I am!! I lOVE fall...the snuggly clothes without the bulky winter coat...the smell of the crisp air...the sunshine without the heat....oh my goodness i love this season (except for when ryan opens the window AND turns the fan on b/c he loves cooler sleeping weather...and i end up FREEZING and waking up annoyed b/c I can't figure out why it is SO COLD in the bedroom, only to find the window open later that morning when I am making the bed...:) ~R

Here are some pics from my sister's house. We visited with them last week before they moved back to NC for Daddy Sean's arrival sometime next week from his 2nd tour of duty in Iraq. Thank you for prayers for his safety...Praise the Lord for His mercy and grace in keeping him safe...please continue to pray for his safety in coming home and reuniting with his beautiful family :)

Here is Gracie getting her groove on during bedtime dance party in which Lucie says, "they get their wiggles out"...what a FUN MOmmy!!

Benjamin enjoying an icecream all to himself. :) I am not sure if took this one or my brother, Mark did :0) We were both playing with my camera.

More pics to come...just stay tuned..I promise I won't take so long this time :) Love ~R

Hmmmm......I don't know about the snuggly thing. Maybe he's feeling more insecure????? Or wanting to be the baby again (since Ben took his spot)?????? I know some of my kids will this because they feel either of those two things --- become more snuggly when they are embarrassed (insecure) or afraid. Or --- if they are feeling left out (someone's getting more of the parent's attention) --- and need some 'babying' time. Enjoy it --- my oldest no longer thinks it's cool to snuggle (now I have to punch him in the shoulder --- or wrestle him if I want any contact...:-)

Andrew was our "no snuggling" baby from day 1 and remains that way today. I am not sure why (may he inherited it from U. Ryan) but I am a snuggle bug. It was quite disappointing as a new mom to have a baby who totally resisted cuddling. Thankfully Hannah came soon enough to let me know that most babies like to snuggle! We some misdiagnosed doctor things too, and you did the right thing by keeping a level head and finding someone else. Hannah had a lot of trouble with getting sick alot and her dr. just gave her antibiotics all the time. I now know how unhealthy that was to her immune system and how she probably had a food allergy (me eating dairy products and nursing her?) and also, she reacted to her whooping cough vaccine or one of those and we stopped having our kids routinely vaccinated. They all have polio and tetnus, but for the younger ones, thats it. Looks like I am writing the epilogue to your "book!"
