TGIF

Thank goodness it's Friday...only it's not like it used to be...weekends meaning "break time". Now as a mommy all the days kind of run together...except for Sunday when we have made it a family tradition/rule/value to not work in honor of God and using a day to soley worship Him and rest etc.

Okay so that was random. Today was a great day though. I will admit I have been a little spoiled this week. We went out to dinner (supper) on Wednesday night (because I proofed all day and didn't have anything ready...poor planning!!) and we said it was 'for my birthday' :) Well then today we got to do what I wanted (again!!) and so I gave options 1 and 2. 1 was go swimming in the evening (after supper out again) and 2 was walk to the park, have a picnic supper (homemade deli sandwiches etc.), then play mini golf right there at the min-golf course at the park. Guess what Ryan chose?? Yup, you guess it - mini golf. Apparently I (the fish of the family) married someone who merely tolerates the water (except for water-skiing) and was so far off from thinking that he enjoyed the water etc. (except for water-skiing)...::::sigh:::: oh well. Hopefully Caleb and/or Benjamin will humor me when they are older :) Benjamin is already into diving into the kiddie pool we got from Walmart face/head first. Actually I think he reached a little too far and then fell in....don't worry he came up sputtering....and laughing :)

So....we have been busy here! Went to dinner the other night and Caleb didn't wear a diaper!!! And he stayed dry. We did have to pull over on the way home and water a random fence tho. :) Now he wants to water every farm fence he sees. (Yay!! He's getting it!!) Ask Grandpa Gene about his phonecall from C the other day :)

Benjamin....well he is crawling at the speed of light and is intrigued by the bathroom. Specifically the toilet. Turn around for 1 min. and there he is pulling up at and banging on the toilet lid. I guess now that I think about it, Caleb does spend a lot of time there and gets a lot of praise for it...no wonder B wants to hang out there. He's probably looking for me to tell him "good boy, I am so proud of you!!!' and all he gets is NO BEN!! Poor little guy... My brother and his wife got this shirt for their little guy that says "My Name is Not NO-NO!"...Maybe we can borrow it for Benjamin. :) He also is standing up and walking 3 or 4 steps while at play now. He's so proud of himself too, just smiles really big and looks around to see if anyone's watching sometimes. Other times he is so focused on getting Caleb's toys etc. he hasn't a clue if you are right behind him. :)

Okay, this is officially long. I added a couple of pics of little B. (Crawling and hanging out by the bathroom no less - he is sitting right across from the open bathroom door and I am down by in the kitchen)....practicing my available light/no flash. What do you think?

Okay so I have to confess something to you and get it off my chest. The next picture is what it really looked like when I initially had the idea of photographing little B in the beautiful light there in the hallway. I almost lost my mind trying to get B to sit still and then had C try and help me. Well having an almost three year old help you try and get your 10 mth old to sit still anywhere just results in a smushed 10 mth old...and one that doesn't stay put for very long! I have a bunch of them laughing and crawling (B and C) and running (C) back and forth and up and down this hallway. Needless to say I quit before I lost my mind :) and then tried again the next day with Ryan. Ryan put B there in the hallway and then waited in the bathroom right across to put him back if he "strayed".......oh and I also straightened up in the bedroom a bit and had the laundry removed from the overflowing laundry basket....okay you got me. :)

Here's little B looking up at Ryan waiting in the bathroom...planning his escape (or entry into the bathroom...."hmmm...he's pretty high up there...through the legs might catch him off guard!" ;)

Have a great one!! ~R :0)

Rosie --- don't feel too bad --- I'm a 'poolie' at heart, too. You can come swim anytime you are here!

Joshua loved the toilet, too, when he was that age. We always tried to keep the lid closed, but there were many times when it got left open, and he had it loaded with toilet paper (cheap entertainment!)
